40.
Why shouldn't we mix starches, such as potatoes, rice and
breads, with our protein meal?
As
was covered in the carbohydrate meal eaten at lunch, starches
and proteins like fish, chicken and turkey, require different
enzymes for digestion. By mixing our foods, we mix our enzymes,
creating an inefficient digestive process requiring a great
deal more energy and resulting in reduced absorption of
nutrients. When we are in the process of rebuilding our
health, we need to reduce stress to the body and increase
absorption of nutrients for faster recovery.
Every
disease - whether it is arthritis, diabetes, hypertension,
obesity, ulcers or whatever - is a desperate warning signal
from our bodies telling us that we are doing something
wrong. We need to heed these warning signals immediately,
before it is too late.More
