This
is a wonderful example of how well-meaning friends or even
health professionals with little understanding of the issues
involved can throw people off the cleansing program.
Carrot
juice has frequently been called the king of juices because
of its nutritional content and even more so because of its
many health benefits. The alkaline minerals, especially
calcium and magnesium, contained in carrot juice help soothe
and tone the intestinal walls. At the same time, these minerals
help to strengthen bones and teeth.
Fresh
carrot juice stimulates digestion and has a mild diuretic
effect. But perhaps its most important contribution to our
health is in its tonic and cleansing effect on the liver.
Through regular use, carrot juice helps the liver to release
stale bile and excess fats.
Don't
worry about your skin turning colors. This is simply a manifestation
of the toxins that the liver is excreting. It is not the
carrot juice itself nor the carotene that comes through
the skin, as this discoloration will take place even if
the juice is filtered to the point of clearing it of all
color pigment.
As you continue to cleanse your liver, you will eventually
see a reduction of this color-change in your skin. If you
reduce the amount of carrot juice you drink, you will reduce
the cleansing effect and with it the color change in your
skin.
To
sum it up: As an overall tonic and rejuvenator, carrot
juice can't be beat. |
