The
Miracle of Aloe Vera
Aloe
Vera is a household name for many people. Still, you may
wonder what the actual benefits are when taking a genuine,
high-grade Aloe product.
There are literally
hundreds of scientific papers you could wade through to
find out what the proven benefits are.
We make it easy and compiled this list of some of them:
Aloe Vera:
-
acts as an anti-inflammatory
agent,
-
hastens wound-healing
by enhancing cell proliferation,
-
breaks down and
digests dead tissue, including acne,
-
anesthetizes tissue,
relieving pain associated with joints and sore muscles,
-
is antipruritic
- it stops itching,
-
is antipyretic
- it reduces the heat of sores,
-
is nutritional,
providing vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes.
"The beneficial
healing effects of Aloe...are so miraculous as to seem more
like a myth than fact," says John P. Heggers,
Ph.D., of the university of Texas Midical Branch.
Among the many desirable
constituents of the properly processed Aloe plant are polysaccharides.
These are very large, complex sugar molecules that are used
by the body at a much slower rate than ordinary, simple
sugars (monosaccharides) which are absorbed directly into
the body. The body, particularly the brain, needs glucose
and oxygen in balanced amounts and the large molecules from
polysaccharides help stabilize blood sugar levels.
When Aloe was given
to diabetic patients, the fasting blood glucose level went
down, said researchers at Fujita Health University in Japan.
The Aloe extracts had a similar effect on those suffering
with hypoglycemia.
Robert Davis, Ph D.,
a physiologist at the Pennsylvania College of Pod iatric
Medicine, has researched Aloe since the late 1970's. He
concurs with Dr. Heggers by saying that Aloe contains "...the
greatest number of active substances I've looked at."
At the University of
Texas Anderson Cancer Center, researchers have shown that
skin cancer in mice can be prevented or ameliorated by applying
Aloe gel immediately after exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
But don't expect those
beneficial effects from any Aloe drink on the market today.
Anyone can squeeze a few drops of Aloe in a jug of water
and call it "100% aloe vera." Be sure to get the
best, purest and strongest Aloe you can find. And none stronger
than Mrs. Hsu's 10:1 Concentrate Aloe Vera. The 32 oz. bottles
represents a two months supply of Aloe Vera since you only
take 1 1/2 teaspoons three times a day with meals. And this
month it is on sale as well. So stock up on this miracle
of nature.
